Urgent Prayer Needed ...

Many of you have heard the recent news that the Internal Revenue Service has been accused of intentionally singling out   conservative groups, resulting in lengthy delays in the processing of their applications for federal tax-exempt status, resulting in over 18 months of delays. Today, I write you on behalf of my own personal ministry and the ministries I support. that await the IRS for approval of their 501C3 status.  Although gifts given to a "pending" non for profit are considered, in good faith retroactively deductible, this has affected giving to The Franklin Table.  We have not understood why the backlog in approving our status until now.  What normally takes 6 months has taken over 18 months. We are currently taking steps to come under an existing 501C3 until our status has been approved.  This will immediately grant us all the rights and benefits of a nonprofit organization.   

Court hearings were to start this Friday to determine just what the government will do, but may be postponed.  This is no small issue. Being targeted because you have checked that you are a "religious" organization is alarming and has hurt many people from being able to move forward to help those in great need.  As a man, it is easy to begin to worry, but I trust in the Sovereignty of God and know our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills.  Please pray with me that there will be a quick resolve to this issue and that support for the Franklin Table and other pending 501C3s will continue to come in ... For me, this is truly a walk of faith.  I am so blessed to know I do not walk this journey alone!   Scott
